Dr. Genyk is director of the Adult Liver Transplant Program and regional director of the MedStar Health Hepatopancreaticobiliary Program. He is a board-certified, fellowship trained surgeon with 25 years’ experience in the field.
His research interests include innovations in live donor liver transplantation, new approaches to surgical treatment of extensive tumors of liver and pancreas, minimally invasive surgery for hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases, liver regeneration, and immunological tolerance in transplantation. He has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals, served as the principal investigator on numerous studies, and has lectured nationally and internationally on liver disease and transplantation and pancreatic disease and surgery.
Zhang Yangde graduated with a Ph.D. from Central South University, a Chinese medical leader, professor of surgery and biomedical engineering at Central South University, doctoral supervisor, first-level chief physician, founder of the world's earliest nanobiotechnology laboratory (formerly the Key Laboratory of Nanobiotechnology of the Ministry of Health), Chinese academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, and honoray lifetime Chairman of the World Endoscopy Doctors Association
